In the early 2000s, while working with Grupo Editorial Expansión in Mexico City, I had the opportunity to photograph a range of remarkable personalities for several of the group’s magazines. These images include a series from Vuelo, the in-flight magazine of the former Mexican Airlines, where each sitter was invited to interpret the idea of flight. I’ve also come across a few portraits from travel assignments for Vuelo and other editorial projects. They were fun, creative days — and I’m excited to keep digging through the archives, as there are hundreds more waiting to be found!
